The Middle Tennessee Hosta Society (“MTHS") was established in 1998. Members’   interests include hostas, shade gardening and ponds. Programs and activities are chosen that  provide a learning experience for all, whether you are new to gardening or have a hosta collection.

We did not collect dues for two years during covid, but are ready to go back to having dues and an official membership for our society. Dues collected now are good all through 2023, but we encourage those interested to pay their dues as soon as convenient. Dues are $15.

Membership in AHS is encouraged. The Hosta Journal (AHS) published three times each year is abundant with hosta information and photographs of national tour gardens and the latest hosta hybrids.

On-going projects of MTHS include:

  • 2022 AHS Convention is June 8 - 11,2022 hosted by The Minnesota Hosta Society. Click HERE for more information.
  • 2022 Dixie Regional Hosta Conference in Knoxville, TN, June 2-4,2022 . It is sponsored by the East Tennessee Hosta Society. Registration has just opened on their website. Check it out! Dixie Region Convention
The Genus Hosta and the term “The Friendship Plant" have become synonymous.
