Spring Ephemerals for the Shade Garden: Here Today and Gone Tomorrow
Learn about plants that emerge early in the spring and provide a variety of beautiful colors, textures, and blooms for pollinators, and then become dormant by mid-summer! Their ephemeral presence requires special planning in your garden design so that you don't end up with blank spots. Many of the plants featured in this talk are woodland, native plants. Learn fascinating facts about Virginia bluebells, trillium, starflower, star of Bethlehem, bloodroot, snowdrops, mayapple, and spring beauty.
There is nothing quite as joyful to plant lovers as seeing the emergence of cheerful blooms in the spring after a cold, dreary winter. Discover new spring ephemerals and revisit some familiar ones that you can add to your home landscape.
Our meetings are open to all, no membership is required.
