Bob Solberg established The Green Hill Farm as a hosta nursery in 1981 where they have introduced more then 100 new hostas for 39 years. Bob is the founder and head of the Carolina Hosta Society 1986-1991, President 1992-1996, Chairman of the Board 1998-2002.

David Cook has recently retired from the University of Tennessee. However, he is currently a private consultant for both homeowners and commercial clients concerning landscape issues involving insects, plant diseases, weeds, and environmental problems.

Dr. Mary Lewnes Albrecht, Professor Emerita, Department of Plant Sciences, University of Tennessee, Insitute of Agriculture, Knoxville, had a 40-year career rising through the faculty ranks and administration.

Linda Orton has been a Master Gardener in Shelby County TN since 1996. In the early years of her MG participation, she acted in the role of Vice President and treasurer and chaired the first years of the Gardens In Progress and Spring Fling projects.
