Friday, May 31st

7:00 - 8:00 am: Breakfast & Welcome (Registration extends to noon)

7:30 - 9:15 am: Nature’s Song Garden Tour departs from the Hilton Garden Inn (Bus leaves for tour @ 7:30 am)

9:30 - 10:30 pm: Bates Nursery

12:00 -5:00 pm: Vending & Plant Sale

1:30 - 2:20 pm: Hosta 101 with Bob Solberg - How do new hostas get from the hybridizer to you, the hosta grower? A little about selection, propagation, and production.

2:30 - 3:20 pm: Controlling Plant Diseases and Insects in the Shade Garden with David Cook - - The critical first step in diagnosing plant issues is to become familiar with signs and symptoms associated with diseases and insects. This program explores a stepwise, logical manner of diagnosing plant issues to help narrow down the possibilities.

3:30 - 4:20 pm: Plants for the Shade Garden with Mary Albrecht - Many other garden plants are great companions to our love, Hosta, and the shade garden. We’ll cover an array of species from A to Z, including annuals and perennials that can be added to bring some highlights to the garden, expand the season, and some shrubs to add dimension. Afternoon Presentations: Hosta 101, Controlling Plant Diseases and Insects in the Shade Garden, and Plants for the Shade Garden

Saturday, June 1st

7:30-8:45 am: Thompson’s Garden Tour (Bus leaves for tour @ 7:30 am)

1:00-2:00 pm: Hydrangeas in Sun or Shade with Linda Orton - Whether you garden in the sun, shade, or somewhere in between there is a hydrangea that will suit your conditions. The palette of hydrangeas to select from in the marketplace today is brighter and bigger than it has ever been. I will help you identify the types of hydrangea available and their needs so you can make the best selection based on your growing environment.

2:15-3:15 pm: Growing Hosta in a Changing Environment and the Future of Hostas with Bob Solberg - How will the changing climate and our efforts to control it affect the way we grow hostas? How will they be marketed to you? What are the new trends in hosta popularity, and what will excite us in the future?
